Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd ("JMM"), is a provider of offshore support vessels ("OSV") and supports offshore oil and gas Exploration and Production ("E&P") activities of oil majors. Different types of vessels provide various services to offshore rigs. Basically, there are two types of rigs i.e those anchored to the seabed such as jack-up rigs and tender-assisted rigs for shallow water E&P operations and floating rigs such as semi-submersible and drillship for deepwater E&P operations.
During normal operations, Straight Supply Vessel ("SSV") keep the rigs provisioned and supplied while Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel ("AHTS") provide anchor handling services and tow the rigs to various offshore locations. AHTS are designed and built as dual purpose vessel that can also be utilized to perform SSV services.
